No New Splinter Cell For PS3
Ubisoft has confirmed that Splinter Cell: Conviction won't be coming to the PlayStation 3, saying the series has been "historically linked" with Microsoft platforms.
Conviction, the 5th spirited in the Splinter Cadre serial, has suffered many delays but is apparently back on track with Ubisoft Montreal and is regular for liberation later this year. The bet on has only been announced for the Personal computer and Xbox 360, however, and in a recent Q&A on the Ubisoft forums the company aforementioned information technology had no more plans to release the game on other platforms.
"Splinter Cellphone: Strong belief is a faithful Microsoft exclusive title and there are nobelium plans to have got Sliver Electric cell: Article of faith on other platforms. In that location are several reasons behind this quality," the message said. "First of all, Splinter Cell games are historically linked with Microsoft platforms. The first Splinter Cell connected the original Xbox was one of the starting time games to fully exploit the console's technical possibilities. At that prison term, Microsoft really believed in the secret plan potential and provided forceful support to promote information technology. So, there is a 'link of heart' between the dealership and the platform. Some games are like this (think of Final exam Illusion for instance)."
"The back reason behind this choice is strictly linked to production," the explanation continuing. "Having a uniform target area platform way that we can optimize the game even further, because we only have one type of – console – hardware to support."
The moment rationality makes feel; focusing development on unity platform means you tooshie, recovered, focus happening it, bringing all your campaign and resources to bear and hopefully coming rising with a finer game every bit a result. Just the notice about having a historical connec to Microsoft confuses me a bit. Even off me if I'm wrong but I think that all Splinter Cell gamey prior to Conviction has been discharged on numerous platforms, including the PS2 and PS3. So where does all that loving view for Microsoft come from?
Whatever the case, it may not atomic number 4 entirely rotten for PlayStation owners: Subsequently watching a promo video that promises to "redefine" the gamey by fashioning it a faster, more action-oriented title, it appears that Sam Fisher: Ninja of the Future has turned into Sam Fisher: Generic Goon. So you may not actually be missing out on much. Pity.
